Let's do a quick review of the first amendment for some individuals who are having some trouble understanding it. Here's what the first amendment does: The first amendment guarantees your right to speak freely without being thrown in prison by the government. It also means the government can't make laws abridging your free speech. So, the government can't outlaw the phrase "The president isn't doing a good job" or "I hate Congress" or "My senator looks like a flea". You can say that stuff as much as you want. Here's what the the first amendment doesn't do: It does not guarantee you freedom from consequences when you speak. Therefore, if you tell your boss to kiss your butt, your job won't be protected. Likewise, if you make derogatory statements about another race, your job at a radio station is not guaranteed. If you use a racial slur, it will not force people to continue to listen to your radio show and it will not force advertisers to support your radio show. Any questions?
